Day at the Oklahoma city roundup

This day was so much fun. It was at the National Cowboy musuem. There were many chuckwagons and everyone was dressed up like pioneers and cooked dutch oven. All you can eat dutch oven. It was so great!!!

I can't believe how much she's grown

Remember when...

Happy Birthday Danielle (a month ago)

Okay, We had a scooby doo party and randy made a mystery machine van. It was so cute but it got so hot that the icing melted off. The mystery machine was on the run!!! We thought it was pretty funny. The party was so fun. When the children showed up they drew on the helium balloons because we needed some villians for the party. They drew some great faces on the balloons. Then we played musical villans, throw the bean bag in scooby's mouth, pin the glasses on velma, and throw darts at the villians. Danielle had a great time, but I tell ya what, everytime I put on a birthday party it sure makes me appreciat my mom and all the parties she did for me. They are hard work. Thank you to Randy too, who is the best dad and husband in the world, and is the funnest, best person to help with birthday parties.

A Day at the Park

We love this park!!! There is a big lake where 30 pound frogs are a common site; when you approach them they squeal like little girls...?! On this particular day, we made our routine walk around the lake, saw some frogs, mosquitoes, and red Oklahoma clay. Unlike other visits though, we saw a large flock of geese. Apparently they had never seen anything quite like us because they started chasing us and hissing at us. Danielle probably wet her pants, but we did escape. As we drove away Danielle said, "Mom, look behind you, make sure those geese aren't chasing us down the road!" The way Randy drives those geese couldn't keep up. We've asked oursevles why they were so futile; it probably goes back to the time I was golfing and accidentally hit one in the head with a golf ball. Oops!

The Bachelorette

So, I loved this season of the Bachelorette. I looked forward to it everyweek. I would always ask Randy on Sunday night if he knew what tomorrow was. Then I would try to discuss it with him after the show. He is so cute though because he tries and then he just laughs and tells me he thinks I am hilarious. So this year I loved Jason. So nice. I really wanted her to pick him. But at least I like Jesse and they really do seem in love. So thats good. So now that Bachelorette is over I look forward to watching wipeout!!

fourth of July

On the fourth of July we went to the botanical gardens and watched the turtles swim. Then we went to fire works.

crazy hair

monkeys, lemurs, and horses, oh my

This monkey likes to eat buttons

Tayte's like "Dad why are you holding a lemur?"
This is the most backwards zoo I have ever been to but it was a blast. It's in Arkansas and we always have a new experience everytime we go!

so cute

Hi-ho silver

Hai-ya

okay!! I love this girl. One day she just walked up to me and said I need a ninja suit. I said,"honey we don't have one." She said,"thats okay mom! Make one!!" I told her I would go get some material and a pattern and make one. That wouldn't work because she needed one immediately. So I cut up some of my shirts to make a head wrap and a mask and found old sweats and shirt. She said it also had to have a design on the front. She is great.

froggy woggy

Danielle and I caught this frog and she had to have a house for it. She couldn't just do a shoe box or something simple. It had to have a slide down through the roof. I even offered to go buy a little house for it at pet smart, but she didn't think there would be any there with slides through the roof. She was right! So I made this beautiful one out of my best piece of tupperware. (Glad disposable)(the sad thing is, is that it really was one of the nicer pieces)

lemonade stand

Okay,Ya know the saying, "it takes a lot of lemons to make lemonade." Well they aint kidding. I decided to make homemade lemonade for Danielle's first lemonade stand. I bought what I thought was a load of lemons. I squeezed and I squeezed and I squeezed and got just enough to make one pitcher full of lemonade. It tasted great but it was hard work. People came immediatley, but I think Randy didn't really want to do it for very long because he was filling peoples cups up until they would spill over the top. oops!!! We put the juice in zoo pal cups. It was really cute and it lasted about 10 minutes. Next time I am just going to buy good old country time.

Just like mommy

Doesn't Danielle's makeup look great. You can really tell she has been watching me every time I put on my makeup. Oh wait I never do that anymore. That might explain why it is like it is.

Orr family farm

isn't she a good listner. You can just feel the concentration.
Danielle and her friend Ady
This was Danielles field trip to the Orr Family Farm. She made here own butter, and rode on a little train, that actually got derailed. I think it is because me and Tayte were sitting on one side and that was a little much for the train to handle!!!

"You fixin' to pick that thing up? What flavor is it?"

On the way home from church meetings Randy saw this huge snake in the road. So did he just leave it there? No he brought it home for me and danielle to see. When he was picking it up, a tatooed man in a beat up truck stopped and asked,"you fixin to pick that thing up? What flavor is it?" Randy said, "I don't know but I guess I find out when I take it home and cook it up." I was actually glad he brought it home because we hadn't gone to the store this week and we didn't have any meat for sunday dinner. Tasted like chick'n. Danielle thought it was way cool.

Kids say the darndest things

Thank goodness randy has such a good sense of humor. A couple days ago Danielle said "Dad, you are the most boring person in the whole world." I tried to quickly reassure Danielle that her dad was not the most boring person in the world but the more I tried the worse it got. She kept trying to convince me she was right. Randy just laughed about it. Then on the way home from the store Danielle says,"mom I want my carseat behing your seat.(She sits behind the drivers side and randy was driving). I told her no because that side was the safest. She wanted to know why it was safer on that side so I explained it was because the driver will instinctively protect his own side and that a car would be more likely to hit the other side. She said, "so it would hit your side." I said, "probably." She thought for a minute and then said,"Mom, I think you should switch Dad seats."
We call Danielle a "skinny minnie" because she is so thin and has such long skinny legs. Danielle said to me, "mom, I'm a skinny minnie, huh." I said, "ya totally." So then she said,"mom, you are a skinny minnie too!" I felt so happy and told her thank you. She then added,"Yeah, you are the Biggest skinny minnie Ive ever seen."
