fourth of July
On the fourth of July we went to the botanical gardens and watched the turtles swim. Then we went to fire works.
monkeys, lemurs, and horses, oh my
Hai-ya
okay!! I love this girl. One day she just walked up to me and said I need a ninja suit. I said,"honey we don't have one." She said,"thats okay mom! Make one!!" I told her I would go get some material and a pattern and make one. That wouldn't work because she needed one immediately. So I cut up some of my shirts to make a head wrap and a mask and found old sweats and shirt. She said it also had to have a design on the front. She is great.

froggy woggy
Danielle and I caught this frog and she had to have a house for it. She couldn't just do a shoe box or something simple. It had to have a slide down through the roof. I even offered to go buy a little house for it at pet smart, but she didn't think there would be any there with slides through the roof. She was right! So I made this beautiful one out of my best piece of tupperware. (Glad disposable)(the sad thing is, is that it really was one of the nicer pieces)
lemonade stand
Okay,Ya know the saying, "it takes a lot of lemons to make lemonade." Well they aint kidding. I decided to make homemade lemonade for Danielle's first lemonade stand. I bought what I thought was a load of lemons. I squeezed and I squeezed and I squeezed and got just enough to make one pitcher full of lemonade. It tasted great but it was hard work. People came immediatley, but I think Randy didn't really want to do it for very long because he was filling peoples cups up until they would spill over the top. oops!!! We put the juice in zoo pal cups. It was really cute and it lasted about 10 minutes. Next time I am just going to buy good old country time.
Just like mommy
Orr family farm
This was Danielles field trip to the Orr Family Farm. She made here own butter, and rode on a little train, that actually got derailed. I think it is because me and Tayte were sitting on one side and that was a little much for the train to handle!!!

"You fixin' to pick that thing up? What flavor is it?"

On the way home from church meetings Randy saw this huge snake in the road. So did he just leave it there? No he brought it home for me and danielle to see. When he was picking it up, a tatooed man in a beat up truck stopped and asked,"you fixin to pick that thing up? What flavor is it?" Randy said, "I don't know but I guess I find out when I take it home and cook it up." I was actually glad he brought it home because we hadn't gone to the store this week and we didn't have any meat for sunday dinner. Tasted like chick'n. Danielle thought it was way cool.

Kids say the darndest things
Thank goodness randy has such a good sense of humor. A couple days ago Danielle said "Dad, you are the most boring person in the whole world." I tried to quickly reassure Danielle that her dad was not the most boring person in the world but the more I tried the worse it got. She kept trying to convince me she was right. Randy just laughed about it. Then on the way home from the store Danielle says,"mom I want my carseat behing your seat.(She sits behind the drivers side and randy was driving). I told her no because that side was the safest. She wanted to know why it was safer on that side so I explained it was because the driver will instinctively protect his own side and that a car would be more likely to hit the other side. She said, "so it would hit your side." I said, "probably." She thought for a minute and then said,"Mom, I think you should switch Dad seats."
We call Danielle a "skinny minnie" because she is so thin and has such long skinny legs. Danielle said to me, "mom, I'm a skinny minnie, huh." I said, "ya totally." So then she said,"mom, you are a skinny minnie too!" I felt so happy and told her thank you. She then added,"Yeah, you are the Biggest skinny minnie Ive ever seen."

Enjoying utah's snow!!
family home evening
Kidney Stones
okay I have kidney stones. Isn't that lovely. My hands and feet have been swollen and my back has been hurting. I said to my doctor,"so do you think that it could have something to do with my kidney?" "Oh Noooo!", my doctor said. you just need some metamussel and some allergy medicine." I was like, "ooooookay...?????!!!" But after they did some tests they had to call me back and say Uhhhhh, we have to get you an ultrasound, we think you have stones!" I swear doctors think I am an idiot. It's like when I thought my gallbladder was having problems and they said its not your gall bladder. When they finally took it out it was completely wrapped in scar tissue. I was like, I told you so. I just want to shake the doctors and say,"does it hurt you to consider what I think it is or to admit that I might be right!
99.6%
tayte is in the 99.6th percentile for weight. We haven't measured her height yet but I bet she is still in the 20th. Randy says it is like carrying a bag of grout around. She is so fat that she can't sit up because her gut. Her gut pushes on her diaper and it makes her spit up. She also hates tummy time so I pretty much carry her around all of the time. Wow that gets exhausting.

High School reunion
Does anyone else feel anxious about this???? I do! I have mixed feelings. I really want to go but I have a baby and it costs lots of money to fly. And there is also the fact that the baby weight...well...its just not comin' off. I had big dreams of coming back a lean mean momma. Instead hormones have made my hair fall out, acne pop up on my face and made me retain water. Do I really want to come back and have everyone's memory of me change from what I looked like in highschool to what I look like now. It might upset them. Anyways...Also if all of my friends weren't so freaking cute and skinny..yeah... you know who you are. You make it really difficult.
craziest winter ever
Okay, My kids have been sick all winter. Danielle finally got her tonsils out on friday and hopefully things will start getting better. Her tonsils were so gross. She wanted to keep them and I said what will you do with them when your done because they are going to get all stinky. She said that she would probably feed them to a monster. Getting her tonsils out was nothing like I expected. Because she is so young we had to be at the surgical center at 6:00. I got up at 5:00 and hardly slept the night before. I had a little anxiety. I thought Oh well Danielle will be all groggy and want to sleep!!! Not!!! She got home and I had to make her sit down. She was trying to hop up on down on one leg and then one time I caught her with her head in the boppy trying to do headstands. She also ate a hamburger, 2 pieces of bologna, yogurt, bread, and noodles. Obviously narcotics make her hyper. Then that night she had night terrors all night about the mystery van not working. I never knew anyone could scream so much and get so upset about the mystery van. It took hours to get her to wake up all the way to where she new what was going on and that I was her mom. It was crazy. Tayte has had bronchiolitis and pneumonia already. lets hope for a healthier spring.
